About Keino Rutherford
Keino Rutherford is a multifaceted healthcare professional serving as a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist at Sherman Oaks and Encino Medical Centers as well as the Chief Hospitalist at Chino Valley Medical Center in Sherman Oaks, California, where he lives and works.
For Keino, growing up, he always wanted to be a doctor. As a young child, he held great admiration for Healthcare Professionals and, when he decided to pursue healthcare and medicine as a career path for his life, he had the full support of his family behind him. As a healthcare professional, Keino Rutherford enjoys the opportunity that he has to help improve the health of others and get them on the path to their best lives.
Currently, in his career, Keino Rutherford works with the Epic Medical Group out of Sherman Oaks, California as a hospitalist on their staff of physicians. Epic Medical Group encompasses Sherman Oaks Hospital, Encino Hospital Medical Center, and Chino Valley Medical Center; each maintains the Epic Medical Group standard of providing top-tier hospital care for each patient from the time they’re admitted until they’re discharged. The physicians on the team focus on two concurrent missions — efficiency and quality — for which they go above and beyond in their delivery. On top of the quality inpatient care available at each of the three medical centers, Epic Medical Center also extends a hand into the surrounding neighborhoods and communities through additional outreach medical care.
Outside of his career in healthcare, Keino Rutherford is passionate about maintaining his own health and fitness. Exercise has been a part of his life since his childhood in the Bahamas, where he was a competitive swimmer for many years growing up. He was a member of the Bahamas National team from 1985 to 1991 where he had the opportunity to enjoy his favorite sport at the highest level in the nation. For Keino, swimming is truly the ultimate physical activity; it combines core strength with cardio and low-impact resistance training. Swimming is an excellent form of exercise for all ages, and one Keino recommends to everyone. Of all of the places that he’s had a chance to swim, Keino’s favorite is the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association annual marathon held at Freeport each summer.
